removing thermostat to check water pump

Featured Replies

Did you use gates for the timing belt kit too?

Used a Dayco timing belt kit but would've been happy to fit a Gates. Didn't replace the hydraulic damper. The Dayco kit on ECP is £45 more with the hydraulic damper included.

I doubt all the items in the kit are 'ECS Tuning' (who I've never heard of) but it doesn't say what brand they are.

If you are getting a garage to do the work I would just let them order the parts so long as they are supplying decent branded parts. One garage actually told me his price from ECP was more than on the website so that's also something to bear in mind to make sure you aren't getting ripped a new one for the same parts you could buy yourself for less.

After abit of research iv found the hydraulic tensioner in the ecs kit fails prematurely.

I will be getting a garage to do it, I always like to get my own parts because then I know what I'm getting.
