2014 roomster radio swap for dab

Recommended Posts

Hi all I'm due to take delivery of a new roomster SE which I think comes with the swing radio

I really want dab so found a seller on eBay who sell new rcd310's dab from ve

I know I need to add a foil aerial but what else is needed i mean will it need coding

I think the car also comes with parking sensors will these work as well in the display

I believe he sells the later unit with a different display colours

I can't stretch to a Amundsen as its leased and not sure if the next car will be compatible with an expensive unit

Thanks

You could look at this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Roomster-Superb-AutoDAB-Digital-DAB-Car-Radio-Interface-Adaptor-/270989234395?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f183790db

It's a DAB adapter that integrates into the standard radio and the CAN to give you full functionallity without an extra/external controller.

I've never tried it but it looks good!

Forget the foil antenna. However much you spend you will be disappointed. Rooftop is the only way in such a sturdy car as a skoda. If you have a pin number then you should not need any coding.

I've got a foil antenna in my Octavia, my wife had one in her Mk5 (that I didn't actually earth), I put one in another lad's Mk5 and Johnny5ive has one in his Roomster with an RCD310DAB. So far so good - mine has been better than the £95 Calearo roof mount aerial I fitted, which lasted 8 months before water ingress killed it. If you buy the right one (the L-shaped Autoleads one from Halfords is ideal) they are amplified and phantom powered.
