According to Skoda it's the correct part number.  It fits a load of minorly different lights and from a google image search of the part number its design has changed ever so slightly but still looks the same size.

ok ,maybe i should have mentioned this earlier but the part is not a Fabia part.

What i am trying to do is add a interior rear passenger light as  my Fabia estate didnt have one ,and find the rear seats very dark too see at night ,member  32KOFDATA  has added this rear light in his car ,see his thread :

i talked with him and he gave me the interior rear passenger light number but didnt know the reinforcment or mounting bracket number as his mechanic had one lying around and this interior light is a VW golf/polo/lupo part!!!

After a bit of searching today i come up with 6N0867599B anyone know if this is it?

Lyminton what is the diference between the 2 lights as i am relly confused??????

Not sure, but F use 3 PIN socket when E 6 PIN (but not 100% sure). 6N0F cost about £10 more...

The dealer said that the 6N0F is  about 15pounds more ,Which one do i choose?

Go to the scrap yard with a pair of cutters and a screwdriver.... ...get a full set from one vehicle (light, socket, bracket).. ...other option, contact any ebay car breaker if he can list full set.... ...that's what I would do.
