Platinum Skoda - Bath.

Featured Replies

I live about 4 miles miles from Bath platinum so I hoped it would be convenient, but used them for the second time ,today.I think this will be the last time for me,the worst service I've had from a main dealer in nearly 30 years apart from the last time I went there.

I have had superb service from the parts department.

I had a leaking coolant hose in a three year old Octavia recently purchased from another main dealer. The "All Parts" warranty doesn't cover hoses and it was going to cost £300 to replace the faulty one. The dealer I bought the car from agreed to pay 60% of the cost as "good will". Platinum Bath then spent a lot of time talking to Skoda UK and Skoda factory to get the other 40% - which eventually they did (from Skoda UK).

They spent a lot of time to sort out a problem on a car they hadn't sold. And they lent me a car for a week while they sorted all this out for me. Full marks!

Only used them for parts but very impressed with the service and friendliness. Parking not always great though.

I've always managed to park, even when at first site it didn't look as though there was space. I know what you mean though.

My last trip there was to put right the loss of power steering that had occurred after driving through a bit of water on the road. (More than a puddle but not very deep.) The extended warranty people didn't want to pay at first as it was caused by water getting in where it shouldn't. Platinum service dept replied: "Of course Skodas should be able to go through a little water. Road signs indicating fords don't read: Ford (except for Skodas)." The extended warranty people agreed to pay. Full marks to Platinum Service Bath.

Bought my Octavia last week from Platinum, can't fault the service from initial email enquiry from Autotrader website to actually getting there to test drive and buy the car.

A 400 mile round trip was certainly worth it, especially the price.

Recently had the Roomster serviced at Bath, strolled round to nearer Green Park station as boring place to wait.  All done efficiently and 15 minutes quicker than they estimated.

They could do with more customer parking spaces though, or at least stop using the ones they already have to park new unregistered cars in, so customers can actually park easily.

Used Platinum Skoda for a fleet of Octavias, for many years.

So happy with them, I bought my Superb and they will be servicing it.

I’ve just bought my first Skoda from them, a new Superb, I managed to get a decent discount on list price. Staff all seemed friendly and willing to help.

On my test drive, I was given a set of keys and told to take it a demo Superb out, just my wife and I.

Up to now I’m exceedingly happy with them.

There are my local dealership, and I expect all my warranty service will be done by them.

Picked up my new Superb on Thursday ………

The only two things I’d requested/ordered were:

The Paint Protection

Mud flaps front and Rear

They had a few weeks notice on both of these however…….

Firstly I was told they’d ordered the wrong pair I’ve no idea or care if it was front or rear. Later told out of stock……

So they didn’t fit the other pair 🤷‍♂️

They have said that they will collect mine, leave a courtesy car and get it done hopefully next week.

Everyone gets 1 chance in my book.

Update,

My mudflaps were fitted yesterday all looks well 👍

However as it’s pi* I mean raining hard and expected to continue all day I have yet to have a good look at them 🤦‍♂️

On the Plus side I was left with a Karoq Sportline to tootle around in.

SHMBO enjoyed the ride, I thought it was rather sloppy into any sort of corner and despite it being a 75 plate seemed old fashioned after my Superb 🤷‍♂️

All first world issues 🥳

Visited Platinum Skoda Bath yesterday after having an email "conversation" with a sales rep about a new 4x4 Karoq (i.e. Sportline 4x4 petrol) and arranging to visit for a look at their stock - only 2x4 so she suggested no test drive as "they drive differently".

She seemed to have forgotten that we were visiting and did no more than unlock a 2x4 diesel and walk back to her desk. No sales patter, no description of the features/specs,... Very unimpressed, so much so that we decided our next new car would NOT be a Karoq.

Platinum Bath are also Toyota dealers so we walked next door and spoke to a very helpful sales rep there (Chris) who found a just in 2025 RAV4 for us to test drive (unaccompanied), as a result of which we now have a 2026 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport on factory order.

Platinum Toyota Bath - top marks, Platinum Skoda Bath - zero marks for a sales rep who really didn't seem to care.

Pete,

I found your post not to reflect my experience or expectations. To this I emailed Skoda Bath, included you comments but no personal data.

As you can Imagine I received a prompt reply.

I have included it below in full apart from my details. Hopefully you’re not put out by my actions.

My only hope is that it’s the last time this occurs.

Enjoy your Toyota, decent motors 👍🏻

Regards

John

Good afternoon John,

Thank you kindly for bringing this to our attention. I’m thrilled to hear you continue to be pleased with your new Skoda Superb and the service from us.

Sadly the below comments fall well below the level of service we look to provide and are disappointing to see. Whilst I understand we were short staffed last week and Sara was already engaged with another customer (out on test drive) during the enquiry I will investigate this further. I’m sure this could of explained professionally and an alternative approach offered.

Thanks again.

Kind Regards,

Keith Atkins
