Centre caps

Featured Replies

Hi all, new to the Skoda brand and forum. Picked up an 11 plate VRS estate around a month ago and iam absolutely loving it. Just a quick question ive noticed the wheel centre caps dont fit flush with the alloy and wondered if this was normal ? I would love to hear if someone has come up with a solution to the glove box rattle/creaking noise as its the only thing that i can really fault it for !!

If you do a search you should find a few posts on both subjects.

Thanks

Standard wheel centres should and are usually flush, so what is on your car, upgrades, replacements or maybe just the wrong ones? What wheels?

The wheel centres as fitted as standard usually and mostly fit flush, so are those on your car replacements or upgrades and the wrong ones Maybe?

I have the gigaro alloys fitted. Ive tried to upload a picture of them from my phone but the file is "too big". Skoda replaced these for last Saturday as they where corroded. Seems abit strange as the corroded ones fit exactly the same so i kinda thought this was how they fit

That is one funny looking center cap - definitately not the correct set for these wheels.

Below a pic of the correct ones and how they look on the wheel.

Thanks. They look alot better ! Another trip to skoda !

Sorry on the Double type post,  Moderators had to approve my posts and i thought they had disallowed my first one.

?

Is that replacement Dark Chrome Gigaro wheels that are now on the car because of the common corrosion issue?

Personally i think i would stick with the centres they have now fitted they probably will stay looking good longer than the Standard Fitment ones.

Be sure the back face of the Alloy Wheels now have some Copper Slip Applied between the wheel and the hub, and in the wheel centre..

When i brought the car from Skoda Nottingham i got them to refurb the wheels as they were heavily corroded, weather they replaced them with a new set or got them refurbed iam not too sure.

I really wanted the new style ones to go with the black and chrome theme but beggers cant be choosers i suppose. I can only really tell they dont quite fit correctly when it comes to washing them.

Thats good to know ill take all four off this weekend to see if thats been done or not.
