Octavia II - Radio no power

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm new on Briskoda and tried looking at related searches but nothing ralates to my problem.

Recently I took my Octy to an authorised Pioneer dealer for the installation of an aftermarket double din radio with reversing camera.

During trials everything was working fine, hence the installer proceeded to fasten all the plastic trims back in place. However once everything was in place the radio wouldn't power up. The installer re-checked the ISO and all Fuses, yet everything was fine. We then realised that the battery had drained in the trial process with all the interior lights being left on throughout the installation. We started the car using a battery charger, yet the radio still wouldn't power up. We re-installed the factory fitted Stream radio and still no power.

I took the car to the Škoda service centre for VAG diagnosis, the result was:- 'Radio (CAN): No Access' 15mins labour worked at the tune of 10€ and still the radio doesn't work.

Since they don't have a proper diagnosis they are 95% sure it must be a module.

Has anybody ever encountered this problem? and does anybody know which module it might be?

Regards,

Max

Could it simply be the protection for a low battery which disables the radio. Have you properly recharged it?

Failing that posting the full scan would be a help if you can get it from Skoda?

Battery is fine (once started it didn't go flat again, + tested with a meter), and during the scan no fault codes were registered, they just couldn't access the radio :/

I presume that radio no access is because its not oem. I suggest next thing to check is whether you get that same error when you put the old one back in.

I would eliminate any possible loose can wires in the stereo quadlock first. It will be one of a twisted pair.

The module in this case is the headunit itself I believe.

That is the big plug behind the fuse tray and the headlight switch?

The stereo quadlock is the big plug which goes into the back of the stream head unit.

Duplicate post sorry.
