what is DSG software update

Featured Replies

I understand what is that technically but the question how it may improve the gearbox behavior in general?

I have light clunk from gear 3 to 2 and some rattle from 4>5>6 on light acceleration, like the gear is to high snd revs to low..... any idea? Cheers

I believe there is a software update that is applied if there is a problem.

Your symptoms sound like a worn DMF (Dual Mass Flywheel). Do you get any rattles at idle in neutral?

No rattle at idle or N or engine off.

i read some thread somewhere about the same or similiar simptoms and someone advice dgs softwere update but no conclusion in that conversation so don't know if it works. Car done 85k I don't think the DMF is worn but never know. I replace the clutch kit on my Octy 1.6tdi at 160.000.... thank you for idea

By the way, on S mode the rattle disappearing.

I pressume my DSG needs a bit revs up.dont know if softwere update do that....!

Rattling on high gears only, DMF would rattle at all gears and idle and most detectable when you turn the egnition OFF. Am I right? Anyone?
