does insurance jump up hugely with a stage one re map or is it not too bad as looking at a mk2 vrs 2.0 thats mapped in the cars for sale what kind of percentage increase on a premium

It will depend on your insurer if they will even cover Modified Cars.

 

But no it need cost no more, even less sometimes if you have a Good Insurer or Broker.

There are Specialists on this Forum that are excellent at getting cover on Modified & Tuned cars.

 

Some might be along shortly.

Adrian Flux matched my renewal quote of £325 (which didn't include the remap) with their quote (which did). I don't know what renewal is likely to be (due in June) - other insurer's quotes were around £75 to £125 over that.
