I have fitted some 16" wheels to my Monte, manly to improve ride, which has improved. But I don't like the look!! First step is to fit spacers. The alloys are off a Octavia 1. So what would you people out there recommend?

It's not something that I understand but people will need to know the offset of the wheels, or if you know the name of the style of the wheels someone may be able to tell you.

What size tyres are on the 16" Octavia wheels you fitted?

Are they also 205 wide.

 

Is the Offset looking the same as when you had the 17s on, and how far do you think you need the wheels out?

Ok details are :- Octavia 1 16" spiders ET42. I have fitted 205/45/16 tyres.

Looking, I am thinking of 20mm.

Are octavia 1 spiders not 17 and fabia ones not 16 et42 in both cases

Put it this way, they ARE 16" and they FIT and they are on my Monte!!

I must admit I had to do some checking to make sure that they would fit before I paided for them, and they did. Result!!

Yeah they'll fit perfectly I've a set of 17's to be refurbed for my fl Tdi none monte still remapped to 126bhp so wheel to cover bigger brakes

And

I have 16 inch octy wheels for my winter tyres and they sat WAY too far in which is why I bought spacers... I got 20mm for the rear and 15 mmm on the front... let me see if I can get before and after ....

Both 17" Alloys for the Monte or vRS  ie Trinity & Gigaro are ET41  & fitted with 205/40 R 17 in the UK.

Other Countries like Australia got Monte Carlos on 16" Alloys.

Sorry just to clear up what I meant was that the spiders where available in both 16 and 17 just the 16 in Ireland was only available on the fabia 1 vRS and not the Octavia 1 vrs, some monte's here had 15 Antares as 17 stolen from cars in delivery yard and Skoda Ireland fitted what was in stock to shift cars on

I was thinking along the lines of 20mm, so now 15mm for the front

Next step is to get some lower springs!!
