how do i change or get to the bulb which lights the heater controls on my 1999 octavia :confused:

The thread is quite old, but it's for those found it difficult.

You have to pull the heating fan **** out. It's sometimes a pain but eventually you will cope. I was struggling, thinking I can damage it but it's not possible. Just grab it very strongly and pull out very firmly. The heating possition doesn't matter.

To pull the bulb out, the best way is to use a straw (the one children use for drinking). It fits perfect!!! If you put the bulb into one end of the straw, pull it firmly and you will get it. If you do it too weak the bulb will slip from the straw.
