Pulling to the left

Featured Replies

Some thoughts - one tyre would have to be seriously foobarred to make the car pull so obviously to one side - and if the ride height and suspension geometry as per the Hunter (or similar rig) is looking OK, then a subframe / console / wishbone bolt could be loose i.e. stripped thread ? have all bolts been checked? or a sticking caliper piston on one side? I had the stripped console wishbone bolt thread problem which made the car pull like hell to one side when accelerating.

  • Have you checked for zombies in the wheel arch yet ?   Sorry you'd have to watch Z-Nation to appreciate that joke

  • Have you had rear wheel alignment checked? They do all the tracking from the rear as a datum point, if someone has jacked it up slightly on the beam causing any amount of deflection, no matter how ma

  • no bump, hunter alignment all spot on, fully pollybushed, new top mounts, droplinks, balljoints and trackrod ends put odd new tyres on the front nearly 3 weeks ago and been pulling to left ever since

Mine pulls strongly to the left when I put my foot down, but drives straight otherwise. I think it's just torque steer, nothing else and completely normal.

this is a common trait of front engined FWD cars (with a lot of BHP under the bonnet)

Highly unlikely to be torque steer in a Fabia; do the guys on here running 260+hp get any torque steer? I'd check those wishbone bolts that go into the consoles..........

I'm sure they do...a lot of it

Its had all new calipers front and rear. Everything at the front has been stripped and replaced where needed at the front.

Im gunna let some pros look at it and see what they come up with

Nowt wrong with it if it pulls to the left only when you accelerate. If it does under braking or while cruising than you've got a problem

no pulling when braking in mine just when planted or a little when not touching the throttle

****update 01/10/15********

After alot of taking the car to bits and measuring stuff up it turns out my steering rack was leaking which is 90% of the pull to the left.

It also turns out that my car has had a whack at some point and the rear beam is slightly twisted and adding to the steering problems!

New rack put in and now it appears to only suffer from torque steer under heavy accelarting.

However i do need a second hand rear beam to put on..... anyone got one lol

Read all posts, mine seems to pull to the right! Only bought car Wednesday!

Tracking, new wheels and tyres first.
