Pros: Very good Service

Cons:

STAR Performance - Scotland

Had my 4X4 Chipped and very pleased I am with the performance!

The service was first class; they even dropped me off at the local shopping centre and collected me when the job was complete.

I had cruse control fitted at the same time along with some new pads

The cruse control is very good and keeps me under control when it come to the cameras dotted along the Grampian roads

I would recommend Star performance to anyone thinking of having his or her car

Pros: Big noticeable increase in power with no dereased driveability

Cons: No real negatives noticed so far.

Had ECU reflashed with 210bhp programme on my Octy Vrs. I\'d expected a small increase but in fact its very noticeable. Impressive performance which makes me wish I\'d bought the 4x4! Jim at Start Performance very good at putting up with my stupid questions and was even generous enough to blame \"taxi drivers\" when I nearly rear-ended a Mondeo cab whilst testing the new mods! Car now wheelspins through first and second - Skoda take note and make a 4x4 Vrs.

Pros: Great service, Know what they are talking about

Cons:

Went in with 150 bhp came out with 190 bhp and 200lbf-ft, thats not just a peak, stays up there. Had the car remaped, K&N filter and a dump valve. Going back soon to get a full exhaust system. Was recomended their by a friend who owns a seat leon, Jim was very friendly and knows his stuff. Would definately recomend to anyone who owns a VAG car.

Pros: Good advice given, no sales pressure

Cons: Nil

Have had a few things done now, first class service.

  • 1 year later...

Had the car serviced at Star on Saturday. Great facilities, work carried out well and a nice friendly chat. Half the price of the Skoda dealers as well.

And Jim, Mrs P will still not give me money for a remap:mad:

Neil

When you say 210 bhp, are you talking about a tdi 170 VRS that has been remapped?

  • 2 weeks later...

im guessing a mk1 Octy vRS 1.8T, i maybe wrong tho

When you say 210 bhp, are you talking about a tdi 170 VRS that has been remapped?

Star wont touch the 170 TDi at the moment due to several reasons

Whats the reasons that Star (or other tuners) aren't touching the Tdi 170 Octavia? Is this mainly because the ECU had already been tweaked at factory to get pretty much as much as possible out it, or are there other reasons?

Ross

Primarily the ECU tweek, but there is also an EGR fault and also an issue with the DPF if i recall properly, the remap would cause the cat's to soot up quickly and block, as the ones used on the 170 are limited life cats.
