Evening,

The Mrs fabia 1.4 (2004) is in need of a new set of front brake discs bug Iv just looked on eurocar parts website and they list 3 different sizes for a 1.4 petrol.

Is there a standard size or does it vary that much?

The sizes they listed were 288mm, 256mm and 238mm (I think)

If your car is the 1.4 16v, it will have 256 mm dia discs.

 

The vRS and 2.0 have 288mm discs. I think only the 1.2 6v has 239 mm (Haynes say 1.4 44KW without power steering has too). The rest has 256mm fronts.

Yeah it's the 16 valve engine (vw polo engine)

I tried to do a rough measurement but with the wheel on its not great and I thought they were around 250 ish

BE VERY CAREFUL taking off/ replacing the calliper bolts. I had one replaced in a machine shop for damaged threads and bloke told me VAG are high on the list of problem brake thread failures.
