Just watching GP of St Petersburg live on ABC.

 

The series boss recently stated they wish to become an F1 alternative for countries that cant afford Bernie's fees.

 

He's got to be kidding.

 

The new aero kits (about which theres been a lot of fuss) make the Dallara incredibly ugly as opposed to just plain as it was before.

 

And the aero parts fall off - shedding debris everywhere.

 

Worse though, the cars both look slow and sound slow.

 

I bet I'm one of the few viewers they have today, but with NASCAR and NHRA on the other channels, I'm off to watch something more exciting.

Montoya won, he's still got it, and he had to slam the door and bang wheels with the champion to do it!

 

Even if the other teams don't get a grip, a 4 way tiltle fight between the Penske team drivers might generate some excitement.

Farcical round 2 in the wet at NOLA Motrorsports Park.

 

Half the field crashed behind the pace car (one at a time mostly, so the pace car had to come out again, and again, and again)

 

The fastest 2 drivers finished 6th and 7th because of Indycar's stupid fuel strategy and race timing rules.

Round 3 at Long Beach, much more entertaining.  Some of the offending disposable aero parts have been temporarily banned so they cant fall off.

 

Dixon now 4th most prolific winner in Indycar history.

round 4 at Barber was very good, round 5 at Indy road circuit a bit dull,

but the Indy 500 WOW. Montoya took it from Power, but 5 or so laps earlier had been almost lock to lock and back at 220mph in turn 2

whilst running 3rd. He has so still got it, and 2 Indy 500 wins out of 3 tries is a mega hit rate, even if it has been 15 years between wins.

Brit ex-F1 driver Justin Wilson is in a coma after Indycar Crash at Pocono.

Hoping for a positive outcome.

Thoughts with Justin. Not seen the crash but it sounded like it was bad. Hoping for good news soon
