4x4 suspension clarification please

Featured Replies

hi all

i have a mk1  4x4 1.8t and have lowered it 40mm at the front and 30mm at the rear and this is just fine for me, but i have read that i will now need to fit rear control arms to allow the car to be set up properly but i am a bit confused by which pair to change,, is it the top ones or the lower ones? is it correct that the top ones do camber and the lowers the toe? if so which ones will i need to stop the tyres wearing.?or have i got it wrong totally. thanks guys.

Lower:

Allows for camber adjustment - this will avoid the scrubbing of the inside edges of the tyres

The need for extra strength is to avoid this:
