19" Staggered wheels 8.5 ET42 + 9.5 ET40?

Featured Replies

Hi.

Summer is coming :) So i am looking for some new wheels for my Superb estate.

I have the OEMS IFG10 in my mind, which come with a configuration of:

Front - 19 x 8.5 ET42

Rear - 19 x 9.5 ET40

Anyone tried this configuration on there Superb II? I have some new 235/35-19 tires in stock that i am planning to use. Will there be fitful for those rims?

My car is lowered 40 with H&R springs.

Thanks

Think these are the size I run on mine - they were fitted from new. Let me check the spec in the paperwork when I get home.

No issues although the 'controle technique' here in Switzerland say that the tyres rub very slightly on full lock on the inner arch

Have had it up on ramps at the garage and we can't see any rubbing marks at all

Mine is lowered about 40mm too on H&R springs (again from new).

Thanks :)

Might be pushing it on the rears, but you could try using this to make sure > http://www.willtheyfit.com

According to that, your rears will be 10.7mm nearer the suspension strut and poke out 14.7mm further out the arch than the fronts

I ran mine on 19x8.5 ET40's, lowered 40mm on H&R Springs no problem.

I also had 235/35/19 tyres which are the correct size

As you can see on my pics, 8.5 ET40's take the wheels right to the arch edge

Perfection IMO :D

Thank you for pics Damo....

Hrmmmm i guess I have to take the 19x8.5 ET42 both front and rear then....  :|  Cool rims BTW   Are they silver and white??

Edited by KMDTHY

They were just Hyper Silver, really bright and sparkly.

Unfortunately I have sold the car now, and I miss it lots :(

8.5's front and rear would be the easiest option, and definitely fit fine

Those wheels are nice Damo!

Hi KMDTHY - apologies in delay with reply.

I have just checked the paper work that came with the car (and the certificate of conformity for the 'controle technique' which you have to have if you change any bits on your car).

My alloys are actually 8x19 front and 8.5x19 rears with an offset of et36.

They are Japanese rims (Superstar 'Weds BVillens FE7' model code).

Tyres are Continental 255/30/19's

Funny thing is that if I had seen these rims on a shelf I would probably have walked right past them BUT on the car (fitted from new) they do suit it I think....it must be the white on white (and I discovered that the split rims were painted to match the Skoda white).

The car had to have small 'spats' on the rear to confirm to swiss legislation regarding rim width (the point Damo has indicated about rims going to the edge of the arch) and apparently these allow you to have wheels/tyres that go right to the edge without illegal protrusion (?!). Apparently this is common on cars with large rims here.....

Anyway, some photos attached....car a bit dirty as just driven down to Perpignan loaded up. Nice drive though ;)

Don't 255 35 19 catch on the arch when turning

Don't 255 35 19 catch on the arch when turning

I had read that somewhere too - on the outer arch/lip?

The problem I have had (apparently) is not the outer arch but the inner arch....although no real evidence to confirm this (rub marks on tyre or inner wing etc.).
