Removing road marking paint from car.

Featured Replies

So while washing and waxing the wife's car at the weekend I noticed small spots of white paint behind the front passenger wheel, looks like it was sprayed up from the tyre after driving over freshly painted white road markings, it's the only way I can see how it got there. It's also on the plastic trim along the sill. Would anyone have any pointers as to the best way to try and remove these spots without damaging the cars paint? Any help appreciated, cheers.

Didn't take a close up photo but can be just about be seen in photo attached..

autosmart tardis would probably be best but try white spirit or wd40 on a rag first

Apologies, paint could be seen in original photo but by the time it was attached to forum you can't really make it out!

Cheers, I'll try that and see how I get on.

Have had some success this morning. I've managed to get the white paint off the door using liberal amounts of Meguiars Quik detailer and a clay bar, have to tackle the plastic sill now! I have never used a clay bar before, have to say it's great, leaves the paint feeling so smooth compared to the rest of the car, looks like I'll have to do the whole car now at some point!!

White spirit and some blue paper towel took care of the plastic sill so all good now.
