New Mk1 Fabia VRS owner

Bought this a week ago off Cripes, felt good on the test drive, next day gave it some abuse and it's dropped it's pint since.

Flywheel on it's way out, vibrates like hell on moving off and under load at low revs, due to being driven far too economically. Got a Valeo SMF conversion kit and LUK CSC in the boot I bought today from ECP, along with Bosch Aeroflat wioers, which hits the drivers side windscreen pillar everytime it wipes and will be getting adjusted tomorrow. SMF getting fitted on the 16th of April, hope it goes well. ECP gave me a free easter egg which was nice.

Air is leaking somewhere when driven hard, feels like a boost leak, booked in next Friday at local indy so hopefully a cheap fix.

In the process of ordering 312mm brakes as the standard ones need changing anyway, discs are rotten and brakes don't bite until mid pedal.

Once the flywheel & brakes are sorted i'll be binning the satnav for touchscreen DAB, replace the front tyres, and just enjoy the car after the big spend.

Car has 89k and has a few scratches and rust spots but TBH that suits me fine, it means I can park it anywhere. I recently sold my 64 plate Fiesta ST as I was paranoid about parking it where it could get scratched or dented, and the dog threw up in it twice so I couldn't take her in it anywhere.

Full leather from Seat Surgeons in York. I was after leather as it's easier to clean, but I have fitted my tailor made Fiesta ST waterproof seat covers to the front, which looks daft with the ST logo but they were £50 and they are very strong and fit great, covering the whole seat perfectly.

Flywheel vibrations seemed to have eased up, ah well that's a shedload of money saved.

Looks like a nice car mate!

Quite a few things need sorting though did you not check brakes, boost leaks etc when you went to buy it?

I imagine getting all that sorted is gonna cost you quite a bit and if you have to replace the clutch also was the car sold as seen as I wouldn't be happy if I'd only just bought it and had to do all that on top?!!

Colour coding the door handles and parking sensors will make a big difference.

There weren't any boost leaks when I test drove it, and I gave it the beans. It wasn't until the deal was done and I gave it another good thrash that the boost leak started. Typical eh. I think it's not been driven that hard in a long time.

Brakes do work ok, the disc edges just look badly corroded. Good excuse to go for 312s

I was gutted though, thinking is this noise the turbo packing in, and met the seller again to mention the boost leak,  and he seemed genuinely shocked, claiming the car has never been driven in anger.

I'm returning the clutch & flywheel to ECP as it doesn't need doing yet, The car just doesn't feel that refined, but I guess it wouldn't, coming from a 2014 Festa ST, but I'm learning to live with it.
