After looking in the Jamiroquai CD box and wondering where I could possibly have left the absent disc, I checked the stereo which said 'No Disc'. I decided that I would listen to James Blunt instead. I gently pushed that disc into the standard Symphony stereo and listened away. After having my fill of that I went to eject and it said.....'No Disc'!! It was then I got that sinking feeling and realised that somehow there were two discs in the stereo yet one was still playing?? Confusing I know. Anyone else had the same problem?? :eek:

I somtimes get "No Disc" I have a OE multi changer under the passenger seat. It doesn't like copied discs. They seem to work better if they are burnt at slow speed............Andy

Ah well that might be it. The JK cd is a copy but the JB one is original. How did you get yours out? Warranty sorting mine.

The Multi changer has a cassette which holds 6 disc It just ejects and I have the single OE disc player on the radio ...Burn the discs as slowly as you can it helps...........but don't ask Why :confused:

Had this problem with a PC last week...The Office 2000 cd (actually a backup on cd-r) went walkabout a few weeks ago and we couldn't find it for love nor money...it wasn't until we needed to use the Cd-rom drive for something else and could'nt get a CD to read in the drive, We took out the drive dimantled it and and found the Office 2000 cd wedged in the top of the casing. The 2000 disc must have caught itself on part of the casing at the front of the drive when being ejected and pushed itself out of the tray against the front of the drive casing.getting wedged in when the tray closed again. I suspect , being a CD-R it was slightly warped (sometimes happens as they are thinner than a conventional CD ) and this is why it caught the front of the casing.

I agree with AG , burn them on a slow speed for more chance of the dr-r playing in a cars cd player.

Actually, CD-ROMs and CD-Rs are exactly the same thickness. If you use a good quality brand, you shouldn't have any problems with warped discs. A good manufacturer will scan every single disc at least twice on the production line (once after the dye layer has gone on, and again at the end of the line), and warped discs should be picked up and rejected there.

Well warped or not, JK is stuck in there with JB........wonder if the record producers would go for that? Anyway apparently have to have a whole exchange unit. Dont know what will happen about CD's. :confused:

if they change it they'll just open up old one i imagine and whip them out.

Burn at 1/2 the disks rated speed (or less) to ensure it works at the end - and leave the room so you don't get skips caused by your movement.

I always burn at 24x or lower using 52x disks and I've not thrown away a coaster for ages
