Powerflex- pff85-620r

Featured Replies

Hi.  I have one of these dogbone mount bushes for my Fabia VRS.  I do not have access to a press or vice. Is it possible to push the new bush in by hand using the grease supplied.  I do not want to start the job and find I cannot finish it.  Any advice much appreciated.  Thanks.

Theres several threads on here about it. Just look in tech guides.

Im not sure if its possible to do with a big g clamp and big washers?

Have you seen vids on youtube? Ive never done job myself.but unless you got the tools i wouldnt want to start it

You might get away with using a block of wood and a hammer. I'm pretty sure I used a vice to do mine but I can't quite remember how much effort was needed to press it in. It's not a hard job to do.

I pushed mine in!

The powerflex bushes usually go in fairly easy, even the wishbone ones. Usually a mallet and a bit of grease is all that's needed. It's getting the old ones out that can require a bit of imaginative thinking!

hack saw ,screwdriver and tin snips was my solution, 5mibs job, -cut the rubber with hacksaw blade, prise jacked inwards and the cut the jacket with tinsnips, then out it popped

Hi all.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Thanks for all the advice. Needed a large press to get bush in and that struggled.  Just drove the car and it is a great improvement over the original which allowed a lot of movement after 50,000 miles. No extra vibration noticed.

Thanks
