Clean car.... now I'm happy :)

Featured Replies

Pride and joy cleaned inside, washed and protected with a good coat of Surf City Garage Barrier Reef paste wax,,,, Fantastic stuff.... Can't beat a nice shine..... Pity I found another couple of small stone chips..... :(

If there is one thing I like it's a nice shine on my "pride and joy" ...

What I have noticed is the chrome mouldings on all 4 doors seem to have started to corrode a little, not bad, and from standing height you can't really tell, but in places on all four they seem to be pitted... :( So trip to dealer Friday when in York to see what they say ;)

Looking great, what are you using on the tyres?

  • Author

I use this http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/shop/gyeon-q2-tire.html not cheap, and a smallish bottle, but it seems to go a long way and you only use a small amount...

Purchased in July when I picked the car up, cleaned at least every 2-3 weeks (in garage most of the time) and do the tyres every time, I still have about half left...

It is good stuff, not too much shine..

Thanks for this. I'm on GTechniq T1 at the minute but have just ordered some Gyeon stuff to try on the OH's car. (It's 3 for 2 on Polished Bliss). Might have to give it a go as I do need to order some more 303.

Looking good!

I like my tyre's shiney!!

I am not too keen of very shiny tyres, that's why I like that stuff, gives them a "new look" clean but matt .... Same inside, I hate shiny dash and trim .. In fact my last 2 cars I have told the dealer not to use stuff inside Lol

When it arrived I thought Mmmmm small bottle for the money, but as I say it is 7 months old and I still have half a bottle, a little does go a long way so maybe not too expensive on the whole.

You've done a nice job on those wheels.  The Sirius wheels are a pain to clean and I find it very tedious trying to keep them clean!  I haven't had the problem myself but a friend of mine had issues with the chrome mouldings when they started to become very discoloured with some chrome coming off.  Sorted under warranty AFAIK.

When I first decided on the L & K I was in two minds, do I like the wheels or not, but I must say I love them :) the two tone looks real good and they suit the car well... although as you say a pain to clean Lol

I use this stuff http://www.britemax.co.uk/acatalog/IronMax.html spray on, leave for a few minutes and it does a damn good job... very little work needed...

I am calling in the dealer Friday when I am in York to see what they say, not to bad but you can see something there, tried tar and glue remover and a mild abrasive, but it does not move... I am sure it is not stone damage..

Looking good!

Wow, that is properly shiny!!

Why does your car drive so much better when it's been cleaned inside and out???

Just purrs along....

This stuff is fantastic for a shine.... http://www.shyauto.com/bbarrier-reef-carnauba-paste-waxb-1659-p.asp

Not cheap but does give a great shine, and comes with everything to do the job, large tin wax, applicator pad and microfibre to get it off....

I have also used this on my old car.... http://www.shyauto.com/bhot-rod-protective-detailer-sprayb-1640-p.asp this stuff is unbelievable for shine.... This is my old Exeo done just with this after washing ....

Spray on - wipe off....

I'm more impressed with the alloys than the tyre shine. I also like to keep my alloys clean on the inside surface, not just the outer area that's usually on view. Surprises me how many people clean just the outer Alloy surfaces and the inner surface never gets cleaned in its life.

Might try that products, thank.  Mine are actually all silver (not two tone) so even more difficult to clean

It is very good, not cheap... I purchased a 4lts for about £40.00 :(

I usually just spray on, leave a few minutes, it turns purple and pressure wash off, leaves wheels clean... Only need a light brush if needed

It's difficult to get one that works. I've tried a few with mixed results. Although that one you mentioned is a UK product I notice there is a stockist close enough to me over here.

Do you find the results last any longer than just normal power washing?
