2 weeks after I picked her up, here's Florence the Fabia after her first wash.

 

Done about 400 miles so far, so still getting used to it, but first impressions are good.

 

The 1.4TDi sounds like a Diesel, but also sounds quite sporty at the same time. It pulls well, and I find myself dropping the DSG into sport mode to get going, then sliding back into drive.

Economy is improving rapidly, my 8 mile journey to work started at 48mpg, I now hit late 50's easily and last trip to work I achieved 67mpg.

 

If you are purchasing the car for Mirrorlink, don't bother. I could not get my cheap phone to Bluetooth my contacts to the Bolero stereo, so I decided to get a compatible smartphone, and what a nightmare that is.

I refuse to pay the contract prices for the very limited selection of phones, so got a Samsung Galaxy 3 mini, which now Bluetooth's perfectly.

 

Sat nav is the only thing I could imagine using on Mirrorlink, but even that is not clear and I have a Tom Tom, so I won't be using Mirrorlink for that either. Fortunately it was not the reason for buying the car.

 

If you are getting a White car I can highly recommend the Blue interior with the white dash and steering wheel inserts, it really does look superb in the flesh, and I think the white dash is the best of the current options available.

 

Space inside is excellent, it may be slightly smaller in the rear passenger area than my Mk2 VRS but it is minimal, and obviously the boot is a huge bonus.

 

The ride is very smooth on my 16" Black Beam alloys paired with Bridgestone Cinturato tyres (not had them before) and the steering is quite light but very direct, with an excellent turning circle also.

The Bridgestone's have gripped nicely from the off, and I came through torrential rain and surface water on a trip to Kent recently, with no squirming or uneasiness at all, impressed with them.

In time (after the warranty is up) I may consider some sports suspension, but I am currently enjoying it as it is, and I didn't want to order it having not tried it, knowing that it can easily be added if required.

 

The closer you get to the car, especially now I have cleaned it, you really appreciate the design.

It is very crisp and the edges on the bonnet and sides are very pronounced, giving quite a sporty look.

 

Overall I am very happy with my purchase (third new Skoda in a row) and can see me keeping it beyond my 4 year warranty period.

Well, not quite, but to the exterior it is. Still no build week for me....

Love the exterior colour combo, that's the likely colour and wheels I'd go for in September, don't like the interior, not keen on the White dash and seen the blue seats in the demo but not sure on those also.

I wasn't sure about the blue seats either, but really wanted the white dash.

As soon as I saw it though, I have to say I would order it the same again, very smart.

 

I do also like the 'quilted' seat option, looks good too, but happy with my choice.

The quilted seats do look good but I think they're only available on the SE L spec, will see what the options are come September when I'll hopefully be ready to order.
