skoda felicia 1.3lx thermostat issue

Featured Replies

hi guys i have a skoda felicia 1.3lx carburted car and i have a thermostat leakage issue, i recently had the housing leaking because it was cracked and i bought and original one and sealed it with red gasket sealer, its now perfect not leaking anymore. though the other piece where the thermostat lives, i sealed it with red gasket sealer and it leaks, not major but enough so that every two weeks i have to top up coolant. now i believe that with the thermostat was supposed to include an o-ring, is this true? and if i install an o-ring what size it needs to be and i also need gasket sealer to seal it with the housing or it isnt necessary ?

thanks in advance

Jonny

Suggestion get in touch with Skoda (the nearest one) tell them what you want with car vin and registration number and hopefully you make progress.

If everybody would get this reply, the forum would be useless. Don't you think?

An answer is better than no answer 'RicardoM' even when made is obvious, but you do have a point.

Get your vin and any info from your car, possibly a photo of thermostat and PM me.

I'll see a Skoda dealer here in the UK and see if I can locate the 'O' ring and gasket that you may require.

Rest assured, people get quick help in this section. It is room for more people helping obviously...

The O-ring is 52x2,6, part number 047121666A. No sealant needed if surfaces are straight.

Well done 'RicardoM' thank you, that's saved me a job of doing a search for member 'jonnycilia'here in the UK.

Just a pity you did'nt tell the member this information before, in your first entry, rather than find fault with my non-constructive entry...LOL

I had no information at that time, sadly. Some things are hard to find, but if it's on the Internet and it is public (as in free), I find it.

I was just a little upset that a veteran like you gave a generic answer that any car owner knows about. Some members may never come back after such an answer. Luckily the OP has a very peculiar way of interacting... in case he is grateful.

Nevertheless you are welcome to help this section with specific information anytime you feel it lacks better knowledge.
