'Car' magazine review of Octy vRS

November 2005 Car magazine (arguably the best motoring mag in't world) reviewed the Octy vRS in their First Drives section. There was a lot of 'It's a Skoda, get over it' type drivvel, but they summed it up as "pointier than the Golf GTI". They priased the interior quality, the handling, engine and price. The tagline was "If you still insist on a golf then you're officially a snob". One of the photo captions went so far as to say "It's better than a Golf GTI. There, that didn't hurt did it?" Not unless you've just spunked 20K on a Golf GTI that is.....
