SEAT RNS315 into Octavia?

Featured Replies

Sorry for the dumb question, but would an RNS315 unit from a Seat fit into a 2007 pre-FL Octavia? Looking to replace my Stream & this unit seems to have DAB & Bluetooth built in. Part number is 5P0 035 191 D. Thanks

Yes it'll fit but you'll probably need a new CAN gateway (unless yours is a late 2007 Octavia).

You may need a new fascia as well.

And the button illumination colour will be 'wrong'.

And the boot logo will show the Seat logo.

And I believe it won't integrate with the pre FL maxidot (if you have it). But apart ftom all that it's fine!!!!

Thanks. Mine's a late 2007 Scout and has the white maxidot(?) display. I thought boot logos tec could be reconfigured? I'm picking up a Bolero today to which I was going to add the Bluetooth module - if I can work out which one - but at £270 for the Seat unit I can probably live with the wrong logo to get bluetooth & DAB.

The Seat ones do seem to be a lot cheaper than Skoda ones (VW ones sit inbetween the two).

Bout logo can be reconfigured on the RNS-510, not sure about the 315. Search this forum for a link to the webpage where you can create your own CD.

It is possible to change the illumination colour as well. 'Rustynuts' on here knows something about that.

The BT kit to add to most HU's will cost about £130-150.

As said it'll fit and work but won't work with Maxidot.

It was the only thing that ultimately made me take out the RNS315+ (coincidentally Seat) and spend the wedge on a DAB Columbus.
