Skoda felicia pickup

Featured Replies

I puchased an Skoda Felicia Pick Up. There the same tuck as a MK2 caddy pick up, my truck even has VW caddy badges grill etc.

It was purchased to give my mk1 the easy life, so I dont have to drive it through winter carry large loads etc.

Heres a little pic of my MK1

I dont know a great deal about these trucks, I do quite like it, it seems to be pretty unique and has character.

So today I set about cleaning the interior. It was a right mess the truck has obviously been used as an builders van, based on the nails screws fag packets etc. It was pretty stinking and an hours cleaning session soon turned into the whole day.

I then fixed the cigarette lighter interior light and wired in an nasty ripseed dvd player - that is soon to be changed.

So my plans for this truck are to fix the mechanical issues - mainly the gear linkage.

- Fix the rear bed which is going to need some welding and a repaint, Then think about a change of colour. Im heading towards a matt colour either through respray or vinyl wrap - perhaps anthracite or black.

Oh and the wheels will be getting swapped asap.

And today ive been sorting out the caddys rusty rear arches. Which is probably the reason theres not many of these about. The arches are double skinned and rust seems to collect between the layers. Today ive finished welding the passenger side, which is the worst one and tomorrow im going to sandblast it and paint in POR15.

When i've finished both sides im going to cover the rear load in an hard spray on bed liner.

Well done with that project. I would recommend keeping it white, Looks ace. Keep up the good Work! :)

Keep passing one for sale on the A47 near Luffenham

I think it is a shame you don't feel comfortable with Skoda badge. If you don't accept it for an inferiority complex, then you missed completely the Briskoda forum spirit and you are not happy with your car, As you can see in my Photoshopped versions above, I didn't only change the body color, but repaired the injustice you made to Skoda badge. Skoda in my opinion surpassed VW, their sponsors in many aspects. In case the original Skoda Felicia pickup logo looks obsolete, you can adapt its modern version and you'll blow away your neighbors.

As for the color, keep it as it is or opt for another one designed especially for pickup.

You didn't read his first post did you? He bought the pickup with the Vw badges already on. Anyway it's up to him what badges he wants on it, it's his truck. I've kept mine with skoda ones but some people like the VW grille and badges better.

I sense a lot of hostility from you. That's rather strange, since my comment was not addressed to you and I didn't put a gun to OP's head. He can mount a Rolls-Royce badge and a statuette if he wants, but my opinion (I can express it, can I?) is that Skoda deserves our recognition and appreciation on BriSKODA forum for giving us a good car. Putting the Skoda badge where it belongs is the least we can do. We are not on BriVW forum.

Sorry for missing the 'bought it with VW logo and grill' part, I am usually more attentive. I promise to you it will not happen again.

Of course opinions are welcome, it's just the way you express them. Talking about the "injustice " he caused to his truck, ESPECIALLY when he actually didn't carry out the changes is just unessecary.

Just didn't want this member to think all other members will be hostile to them.

Anyway as for the original question, I may be biased but orange is a great colour ;) (I have seen an all Orange truck before, it looks very good) Alternatively similar to mine you could.paint the bottom half in any colour you like and leave the top half white, I.Like this style don't know if you do?post-121085-14289935082312_thumb.jpeg

You seem to forget I took the time to do better photoshopped versions of his pickup. In fact I could come up with any glossy color if there is interest from OP. Is that hostile? As for my opinion on the VW logo on a Skoda car, I apologized for overlooking the fact he got a Caddy grille But I find my opinion very reasonable because the badge should reflect the work and dedication of Czech workers and yes, it is an injustice for their dedication. There is nothing hostile in that. By the way, the majority of ordinary Czech people absolutely hate VW for many bad decisions (design, finance, etc.) that reflect in unreliable cars, against Czech tradition, from Fabia on. Czechs' last pride is Felicia and putting a VW logo on it is like wearing a Manchester soccer T-shirt in the city of their biggest rivals. Let's agree that we have different opinions on other people's work and let the owner decide for himself what is correct to do. For any other prior off-topic grudge against me, please feel free to PM. I will be more than happy to chat with you and defuse your anger and misconceptions. Thanks.
