Help Needed! Fab VRS Rough Ride (front end)

Featured Replies

Here's the problem:

Fitted the H&R's and brakes a month or so ago and everything was fine was really happy with it, then after taking some ECU logs myself the car started pulling to the right under acceleration which i investigated and found to be the NSF front wishbone bolt was spinning in the console. So, as i don't have a ramp and work away Mon-Fri i got a garage in Brum to pop the bolt out and see if the thread had stripped, which it had, so told them to replace the console which they eventually did (with some **** ups along the way!) and all was sorted. However, the ride on the front end is rough - i cant remember if this was like this before the new console or not as i do a lot of mileage in this car.

Now, the ride isn't too bad at low speed but once up to motorway speed it feels like i'm driving over tiny ripples in the road and knocking (but not like its top mount knocking which is more obvious, and not so much through the steering wheel, mainly through the floor pan) and is not nice, nor confidence inspiring! I have rocked the NSF wheel to see if it was a bearing but no, also checked the driveshaft nut and that's tight, the drop links are new and appear to be tight. When i rock the NSF wing though there is a knock coming from the wheel area (only when the wheels are pointing ahead, when to the left it does not do it. Coils are not on the lowest setting either and its not mega low.

Is there anyone around either Manchester, Birmingham or Warwickshire area that is experienced enough to look at it for me? i have been to two garages in Manchester, one a VAG 'specialist' who said that its due to it being lowered!, and another large specialist who said i would just have to book it in and leave it with them. All of which is useless to me as i work away midweek. Really need some help with this!

Did they put new bushes in?

The new console came with OEM console bush in, however they did not notice that i had Cupra ones in so i pointed out the obvious that they needed to swap them over, which+ (with a few struggles along the way) they managed to do.
