what oil for 2011 VRS?

Featured Replies

hi guys

in less than 3 hours i'll be picking up 2011 fabia VRS from the skoda dealership. i'm a little nervous with oil consumption so i think it'll be wise to buy some oil and store it in the boot.

so what type of oil?

cheers

yeah you're right they should give me some oil.

they throw in 4 new tyres  so not too bad

Enjoy the car.

Do not buy Castrol from them,  5w 30 VW 54 00,

Ask for a free litre maybe.

So buy 5w 40 Full Synthetic to meet VW52 00

Do you know how to dip it when you collect it cold,

see where it is on the Dipstick.

Dip it Hot when you get home.

Then Cold in the Morning.

If the Seller has the correct quantity in, then you know the correct level,  cold & hot.

sharky, why did you never mention this before!!!!!!!!!! some people keep the best tips to themselves and heres me thinking you liked me

i better bookmark that in case i run out before the new one comes, only got 6 bottles left and its still a month or two away

@ wesley, even if it uses oil, as long as you check it regular and always carry a spare bottle youll be fine :)

Even buying Used there is no need to accept having an Oil User as long as the car being supplied has a Warranty.

Report as soon as possible if it needs anything like 0.5 of a litre within 2 tank fulls.

If you go by a Warning Light coming on, 1 litre of oil may not be enough.

Even over 3 year old cars need brought to Skoda / VW's attention, because they knew the issue between 2009-2013.

So an Engine can get The Breather Type 2 Mod, the ECU Update, the new Squirters,

then the New Engine all at Skodas expense.

VORSPRUNGDURCH TECHNIK.

We are an honest car manufacturer and will see your customers right.

Right up them.

More good cars than bad ones, so once you are sure the used car is all good, then chill.

You should know within 1,000 miles if it is an Oil User or not.

If you buy at a dealers go straight back and tell them, 'Not of merchantable Quality', and Skoda know why.
