Found out if I press open on fob and open from inside at same time I can open door from inside is this micro switch or lock mechanism?

Most likely micro switch mate which is an integral part of the lock mechanism. Can change just the switch, but you can get new complete lock mechanism off eBay for about £20 delivered. It's on the top of my to do list. So I'd just change the lot.

If that's the case might as well do as you say and replace whole mech.

Yeah I'm sure it's soldered into the mechanism. Have you searched on here? As I know there's loads of thread on it. There's one (in the octy section I think) which details the micro switch replacement itself.

The external microswitch on the lock mechanism wouldn't cause this fault but there are four microswitches inside it. One of those could. There is also the possibility of failed solder joints.
