Will we see big deals on the outgoing model?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I almost bought a new Octavia VRs a couple of years ago but ended up in an M135i for a year. I then bought an Abarth 595 which I now want to change for something bigger.

I'm considering a Superb as I like the extra luxury over the Octavia and I was wondering when we can expect big savings as dealers push to sell the last of the current model?

I haven't yet brought it up with the dealer but will be speaking to them again tomorrow when they give me a p/x price.

Cheers,

Martin

Nobody?

Hi MTM

I posted about a month ago of a cracking deal I got through new-car-discount.com -  here's the link to the thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/342352-online-brokers/

Saved 27% - around £8500 off a Superb estate 170 DSG 4x4 - now down to 26% but finance deal is better to make up for it

I haven't found better elsewhere - Carfile's 18% was the closest I could get - and one dealer offered me a £1 discount. Fair play. :moon:

Forgot to mention that they also entertain part-ex's

I've just got what I believe is a good deal on a 4 month old ex demonstrator. I've gone from a 2 year old 60,000 mile Twin Door 140 DSG L&K to a 170 4x4 DSG L&K estate with power tail gate for the same PCP payment per month.

Dealer said Skoda are beginning to get rid of their fleet of MK 2 demonstrators. He also got an email knocking £2k off of his showroom estate last week.

Editing to add that the current car is nearly 20,000 miles over target and has a dent big enough to need a new skin on the driver's door.

I have no proof but I would be surprised if there were not a few deals going on regarding existing stock at some point.

That said, There does not seem to be an awful lot of Superb2's around in stock within europe (don't know about the UK specifically).

We went to the motor show in Perpignan yesterday (not massive but all major manufacturers there from Alfa through Maserati, Lotus, Porsche and Skoda of course ;) ) but no Superb 3 on the stand (unlike Geneva) and no Suberb2 run out models.....Why?

Two reasons, firstly they only want to show 'new' and current models (understandable...) but secondly the chap said that they simply could not get hold of 'new' Superb2 that wasn't already sold in the region (Marselles through to Perpignan).

Popular wagons it seems....or just sales bluff?

PS Saw the new Renault Espace and it was quite a nice beast in the flesh :)

SUK will be have been gearing up for months now and the programme will go about two months out from the UK Launch of the MKIII with runout specials on the MKII....

Superbs are not too plentiful in Ireland (and the vast majority are 1.6) from what I can see so will be interesting what kind of deals will be available over here

Thanks for the info guys :-)

I had a list sent of what was available here, at the port of exit and due off the production line, having a tight 2 week (inc bank holiday) to get a meter/plate sorted meant i could either take a white one or wait 9/10 weeks and risk my old car lasting, trouble was my council regs mean a white one MUST be a hackney plate (not private hire) so instead of a simple £100 change over i had to pay £250 for a meter, £216 for the test and £40 for the rooflight plus £90 for a proper spare wheel...

That is not a bad deal and is approaching what they were doing price wise in the "vat" free period three yaers ago.

Btw I paid that for mine in 2012 with most extras included and 5 year warranty and zero % interest over two years with 50% deposit.

Most definately over here.

In Belgium you have the Skoda Superb "Ultimate". It's a 1.6 Elegance with Columbus pack, Bluetooth, Pano roof, Parkassist.

List price is 36.035 EUR, buy now is 25.790 EUR.

As a reference, my Elegance was 36.000 EUR on invoice, and the first owner paid 32.000 EUR. So a bigger discount then normal I'd say!

Only bad thing, you often don't get to choose the options, so it's take what you can get!
