Hi, anyone ever used an online broker to buy their car and if so was it hassle free?

I've looked at drive the deal and buy a car to name a few but as there a little faceless im unsure although the deals they offer are very tempting and main stealers cant get anywhere near their prices, to good to be true???

Have you tried Carwow?

I got a good deal with them , dealer matched car file and dtd

After a couple emails and phone calls, all subsequent (and all payments) are directly with the dealer.

Frankly, I don't know why anyone wouldn't use a broker like Drive the Deal, Carfile... or specifically for Skodas, Skoda Store. Very little work/effort for a great discount.

Now, because the broker will be making a couple hundred quid on each sale, it might be possible to negotiate a comparable deal yourself, but it'll be lot harder than a few clicks on a website!

cheers guys, ive tried a few for quotes, some are even happy to take a px and give decent enough prices

id rather buy off a local dealer but if they wont come near then it might just be a broker

Don't be sucked in by the 'local' dealer thing, they're not your friend & frankly don't give a rats a$$ about you.

Find the best price, get it delivered and then use your 'local' dealer who will still want to be your friend ;)

Hi I bought my new car through www.ukcarbroker.co.uk a few years back and it was stress free, I will buy this way again when I'm in the market for a new car. William

I've just ordered through Skodastore which deals with a well know dealer about 80 miles from me. Spent two hours with my local dealer test driving two new Octavia's. The Sales executive wasn't able to do a deal any where near on the day and the garage owner phoned me two days later and was about £1000 more than Skodastore with the trade in.

Seems a friendly helpful dealer they put you in touch with (They only put you in touch with one dealer so not really a broker!).

Haven't been on here for a while but I've just been reading the pages on Metal Grey metallic as a colour choice for a Superb and thought I would share details of the deal I just took up with New-Car-Discount. Ordered a

2.0 TDI CR 170 Elegance 4X4 5dr DSG . List price new, on the road, is £30,050 - they're offering these at £21,865, that's a 27.5% discount, and they have loads of good deals on other Skodas in particular. I know the new model will be out in a few months but this is still a fantastic car especially with the amount of kit it has. I went for the metal grey and ivory seats for a bit of contrast and added the panoramic sunroof and Canton sound system as options so the final figure was slightly higher. Here's the deal I had:

http://www.new-car-discount.com/car/skoda/superb-diesel-estate/estate/diesel/automatic/2.0-tdi-cr-170-elegance-4x4-5dr-dsg/13/

Wouldn't want anyone else to miss out on this kind of discount (and I have no connections with them!) - too late now for me but has anyone come up with any sites/brokers with better deals than this? I've used Carfile a few times in the past but they didn't come near this deal.

Cheers

That's an excellent deal - approx double the discount most brokers are currently offering! Metal grey with light interior looks god and the roof is the option I'd spec first too - should be great. Only thing I would say is that I'm pretty sure Canton isn't offered on the Superb - there's just a no name unbranded 10 speaker upgrade which is 'ok' (I have it on the Yeti).

Did you consider getting the L&K for an even greater saving? Doesn't it come with panoramic roof and premium sound (plus other additional kit) as standard?

Edit - in fact it comes with 14 extra bits of nice kit for a couple of hundred extra over the elegance with roof and speakers - amazing value with over 9k off list!

Hi  Yeti-Man - you're right about the Canton system - I "mis-spoke" because I've also had my head in Octavia brochures and had persuaded myself that I wanted that system - the one in the Superb is non-descript as you say.  Did look at getting the L&K at such a silly price but I prefer the standard alloys on the Elegance and you get what you're given on the L&K. I hope more people are in a position to take advantage of these offers, I'm looking at it as getting a premium exec for Focus money.

last sentence sums it up IMO! Bargain. And yes, I agree, the alloys on the L&K would be the only factor putting me off but they can always be swapped without affecting warranty etc. Good luck with the new car. :)
