Found a rather nice gear stick and gator on the old ebay... buts it for a mk3... would it fit my 2007 mk2?

 

Even if the hole is a different size I wonder if I could just change the insert... might mean unpicking a few stitches....

 

Any help or  advise appreciated!!

Ahhhhh...... this is one of those moments where you say... I have searched and found nothing..... purely because..... now I realise, I was searching the wrong part of the forum.... Thanks... persistence with the search function has finally paid off.
