Featured Replies

Hi I'm looking at getting a dash cam e prance 805 just wanted to see what people's reviews are on them and do you leave them in the car all the time and if you got any photos of them fitted.

Thanks silver I'll read this at work tonight i'll call it research and development ha ha

Not sure if you've already done a little digging and decided on the dash cam, I was in a similar position to you and spent far too long watching and reading reviews  :D

I ended up going down the Mobius route, a great camera, fully fitted for less than £70, including all the brackets, wiring and fuses etc. for a hard wired installation.

Pictures of mine (and others) in the Superb, which is all but identical to the Octavia with regard to fitting / positioning etc.

I have a e prance 0801, complete with GPS, good piece of kit. £ 54.99 off Amazon, ordered Wednesday arrived Friday. ( You need to buy a SD  card though )

I have an 0805 and I'm very impressed with the quality for the cost of the unit (£65 + SD card). Only minor annoyance is I have to format the SD card every so often to stop the camera randomly turning off, but this may be down to using a class 10 SD card (Manual says not to). I have the GPS mount and it's quite neat how with the provided software it shows your journey on Google maps and speed etc. I leave mine in the car all the time but do sometimes remove it from the window when parked up to avoid catching the attention of tea leaves.

I am looking at the 805 with gps but there quite a phew not so good reviews on Amazon I would leave it in the car all the time

I have just started using an 0806 which is their latest. It has a couple of (well documented) improvements on the 0805. I like the polariser that removes windscreen reflections and glare, 2 card slots, you can mount it either way round (upside down to have the mounting opposite end

A few quality issues with early ones but they seem to be better now the one I have seems to be doing ok. If it carries on I'll get a couple more.
