Looks like I'll be needing four new tyres soon for my 07/57 pre-FL Scout. It's currently shod with 225/45R17s but the pressure chart inside the filler cap only lists 225/50R17 (or 205/55R16). If I pop the reg number into Blackcircles (for example) it comes up with 225/45.

Just wondering what is correct - and any recommendations for a decent mid-range tyre? Thanks

Blackcircles (and most online configurators) is wrong.

 

The correct size is 225/50 R17, as per your filer cap.

 

Take a look through the pictures on Autotrader, you can spot a Scout shod with the wrong tyres a mile off.
