Pd140 Blown turbo?

Featured Replies

Hi guys any advice would be appreciated. I have the bkd pd140. Was traveling home from work last night and pulled away from a set of lights. Up into 2nd gear around 2750rpm and pop! No power at all and I've never seen so much white smoke in my life. Managed to limp about 200 yards to a safe place to pull over and stopped the engine.

Am I right in thinking this is a blown turbo?

I haven't had any other symptoms or signs of it failing. other than the last 25k miles or so it sounds like I've had an owl living in the glovebox.

Cara currently at the dealers but they can't look at it until Wednesday. Thinking hybrid turbo just for more reliability. Possibly a stage 2 from turbo dynamics.

Anybody else have one fitted?

From what you have put there, that does indeed sound like a Blown Turbo.

How many miles have you done. I would of been concerned about a noisy Turbo well before I would have carried on doing 25k.

Is it still under warranty?

Have a look in "for sale" section, XMan can sort you out with the turbo for reasonable price.

My car has done 78k miles and to be honest I thought that was just the normal sound of the pd engine. Unfortunately it's a 2010 plate so I take it that's out of warranty

As pointed out above, you better off picking up the part via third party means, and get a good indy to do the work, rather than pay the premium at the Stealers

Anybody know any decent vag specialists in the bath area? I've only heard of MCM in the outskirts of bath and not sure if they are any good.

MCM on facebook has a 5* star review rating, so I would say its worth checking out
