ABS / ESP light and ABS switch lighting up

Featured Replies

The tcp/esp lights are flicking on regularly, often when I hit a pot hole, manhole cover etc or even accelerating up hill and car loses (or works to regain) traction

4 times now both lights and the ABS switch light have come on and stayed on till the engine is restarted to reset - usually urban but once cruising at speed on the motorway. This presumably switches off traction control and the car drives normally.

Garage have run diagnostics and found nothing.

Any ideas?

The abs speed sensor rings I think they are called possibly think you have to buy the whole hub with bearings etc as one. This is just a wild guess I'm no mechanic

Yes, either the sensor has gone or the reluctor ring that is part of the hub is faulty. I have just replaced the sensor on one side but the light is still on. So it looks like a new hub is needed.

Thanks. Update - on a motorway journey last night the cruise control kept dropping out. Don't know if it's connected. Seemed fine after I switched CC off and on again

Hi there, I had this on my Octavia Estate, have a look at my post it might save you replacing the hubs.
