Front wishbone arm rear bush housing bolts

Featured Replies

Going to replace the rear bush on the front wishbone control arms and have read somewhere that the bolts holding the housing are stretch type and shouldn't be re-used. Does anyone know part numbers of these bolts or link to where to get them? I'm usually pretty good with searching but no luck so far :(.

Thanks

I'll be honest, I reused mine apart from one of the smaller ones which sheared.

I assume you haven't removed them yet, so recommend spraying with freeing lube days before.

I only have the wrong one they sent me first (a very similar type, just thinner).

Sorry but I cannot find any info for my order of the smaller one. It will have to be VAG group supply though, I am pretty sure.

There are some part numbers in the mk1 section, but it looks like they only have two bolts per side (rather than three) so may well not be the correct ones?

It's best to replace the bolts as it will be more expensive if the bolts snap. Try you local TPS or skoda dealer as they will find the correct bolts for you based on you reg number.

You'll need

  • 1 off M12x1.5 90mm length.  partno N91039802
  • 2 off M10 x 76mm (I'm pretty sure the pitch is 1.5 as well) partno N10579702

Torque for the stretch bolts is 70nm + 90 degrees

If you replace with generic grade 8.8 fasteners then torque is 90nm

That is what I was looking for, thanks for that!
