Monte Carlo Ecu Swap

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I currently have an 86ps Monte and was wondering if it is possible to swap out the Ecu and replace it with an Ecu from a 105 model? If so is it a simple swap or does it require further work?

Cheers,

Ben

Welcome to the forum.

Better to just go get a Remap done via the OBD Port & have 130ps or so.

APR, REVO, Shark Performance or others.

?

Do you know someplace that breaks cars and has a ECU for sale without having to buy the Engine.

I'm pretty sure a new ECU will need coding to the car it's not just a simple plug and play ?

The immobiliser will prevent the car from running. You will need to the new ecu paired with the immobiliser in the instrument cluster. A remap will probably be easier.

Cheers guys, reckon remap is easiest thing to do. Only problem is insuring it, what's best plan for insuring or should I start a new thread.
