thinkin of tintin! pictures please.

Featured Replies

Im thinkin about gettin my windows tinted. Mainly to stop the sun gettin on my kids when in the back. I want a gradual tint so it doesnt look like a van. Any pics of verious degrees of tint? Estate if possible and also silver. Cheers.

What do you mean by a gradual tint?

This is 20% - factory privacy glass seems to be somewhere in the region of 23-25% (which was what I was after) but after arranging the job based on 25%, I discovered on arrival that it was 20% or something much lighter. It looks darker outside than I wanted but great inside.

Unless I've completely misread the intention of the thread and it's actually about Hergé's Adventures du Tintin.

Lol. When i say gradual i ment i didnt just want the back done. I dont want there to be a noticable difference between front and back.

I wouldn't have the fronts done full stop as you're not going to get a legal tint for the front windows anywhere, but whether you want to risk that is up to you.

I personally wouldn't want to get stopped and told to remove my front window tints on the side of the road.

As above, don't tint the fronts. Most factory front windows are only just above the minimum amount of light allowed, before any tints are applied.

A good 'tinter' won't even try and tint the fronts anyway. It's not worth it.

Had 20% on my fabia. Held up it didn't look dark, fitted to the car I hated it. I think will get the octy done like 35% at some point not too dark then.

Guy local to me does rear 5 windows for £110.

Don't forget to update insurance when you have had it done for safetys sake.

I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of mucking about with insurance so bought the Vanstyle clip in sun screens as here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/312126-sun-shades-for-the-little-girl/

Cheaper than a tint. Looks like one from a distance and nothing to declare on insurance.

Exactly what I thought when I saw the title. The Teeside Tintin dubbed versions are awesome. Sorry OP I'm no use otherwise in this thread
