Paint repairs

Featured Replies

Some of you may remember that i took my bumpstrips off a while ago and was left with a line of laquer / paint, which i can only imagine was due to a repair made to the driverside door after a mishap of sorts.

anywhoo, its been bugging me for months now and i couldnt decide what to do.

-do i spray my new bumpstrips and fit then back onto the car,

-do i attempt to repair the door myself?

-or do i get a respray on the door (costly one)

so i decided to have a go at repairing the area affected and see how it turns out, worst case scenario it doesnt turn out too good and i have to put the bumpstrips back on!

heres the results from a small 'test' section i did on the affected area.

I think its quite a nice result considering im new to this, was very nervous and took alot of applications of megs ultimate polish to bring it back up, but im a happy chappy, now to do the rest :peek:

ps. if you look at the second image carefully you can just about make out the mark still where my finger is, but the transformation from before is awesome :)

Great result, well done
