I love this, always fancied a "Chavalier" myself! Bodywork looks in brilliant conditions from what can be seen in the pics. So is that a C20LET engine?

Yea it's the C20LET engine. Should be running around 280-300bhp at the minute. Going to change the turbo after summer for a hybrid which should see about 350bhp which is the limit with the standard manifolds. Only trouble is the rods will need replacing as standards are only good for 320 bhp.

Bodywork has slight rust on rear arches which has been repaired. I picked it up from my mates bodyshop but the paint match is not good enough as the red tint is faulty. He's going to do it again soon. Shame as it looks spot on when not in the sun :D

I've no plans to go over the 350bhp mark as I have a 1994 Astra GSi which I plan on having custom manifolds, New management and loom and fully forged engine. Hoping for 500bhp in that.

Has the astra got a C20LET in it as well? Do they come with the C20XE as standard? The red top 16v or are they 8v?

I do think there is uber old school coolness with the older vauxhalls.

I've always had a soft spot for Nova's lol.

The Astra came from factory with a 2ltr 16v engine. I bought the car as a rolling shell as the turbo engine spat it's rods.

I have a forged bottom end I plan to have blue printed and a fit a ported head.

Cavalier was originally a 2ltr 16v but the crap X20XEV.

Just grabbed a few pics of the paint my mate has done.

Yes!

Love this thread!

Cavalier turbo is top of my to own list after having every form of gsi.

Good work that man :)

I did fancy a genuine Cav Turbo but prices were ridiculous so plumped for a SRi for £400.

They are only going up in price too. Makes a good investment if you can get one at a good price.

Following this with lots of interest :)

Some nice work here. Had a soft spot for vauxhalls for years. Will never forget the families nova.

Will keep my eye on this!

Following this thread!  :D I like the old school vauxhalls,i have had two cav sri's,one was a 1991 8v that i had supperchipped (showing my age now!) great car, loved it & i had a 1993 16v red top cav sri. I have had one nova & 4 cavaliers & one astra over the years.

Love a nice cavalier and a mk3 Astra gsi is one of my all time fave cars!! I had the choice of getting a gsi or a rs turbo a few years back and went for the rs but do kind of think I made the wrong choice :( also nearly bought a few cavaliers along the way but they all had the crappy ecotech engines in :(

This Cavalier had the crap X20XEV. Easy to change an engine in the Cavaliers though :D

I do like that cavalier! Looks mint in the photos. I'll be following this one. Older vauxhalls are cool. Don't care what people say.
