My first Skoda

Featured Replies

Having driven many cars over 40 years I am at the "smaller car" stage of life with the kids now in their early 30's.

I looked at a VW Up, then after a lot of research it was obvious that the Skoda Citigo was well worth considering.

There was only one problem, I wasn't particularly a Skoda fan and often used to joke about BMW & Jaguar car drivers, looking out of place in their expensive cars with their "Skoda faces".

That said a test drive at the Aberdeen dealer concluded by my returning the car & simply saying to Martin, the salesman in the showroom - "I've got to have one of those"

Just 7 days later I was back and concluded the visit by putting a deposit down on a 5 door greentech elegance. Not brand new, but registered just before Christmas 2014 it only had 25 miles on the clock.

My last car was a 2 litre 16 valve Peugeot but the transition to the Citigo could not have been smoother.

The only regret so far, is that I didn't make change earlier.

All I have to perfect now, is my "Skoda face"

Hi,welcome to the forum,..."your Skoda face..."..lol,try driving a Roomster....I can't begin to describe the looks of shock and bewilderment from friends of mine who are used to seeing me behind the wheel of classic sports cars and hot hatches. :p :peek:

Nearly 300 miles on the car and breaking it in gently.

At work a couple of people have remarked - you're driving a Skoda ! ! !

I simply reply by saying they are a bit like Marmite - not for everyone but if you try one you'll probably get a pleasant surprise.

MPG is around 57mpg which given short journeys I feel is pretty good.

Still delighted!
