G3 wind deflectors-beware

Featured Replies

If you have the 5 door G3 wind deflectors make sure that they are well fixed and not loose in any way. My o/s one had obviously worked loose and went flying down the road behind me, narrowly missing the 2 cars behind. Went back and picked it up, not damaged in any way. I think the problem is that they are not quite as long as the Heko ones so they need the clips to hold them in, and they work loose with time.

I've not used them or seen them myself but a dab of Evostick Impact on the threads, if they are screw fitted, making sure to keep it clear of the plastic will prevent them vibrating loose. If they are just clips as stated the same could apply to the clips.

Fred, there are no threads and to start using glue on the clips would not be an answer as they are push in claw type and are supposed to grip the deflector and the inside of the groove the window runs in. To put glue on them would be almost impossible without getting it all over the place.

Fair comment, I was blundering in the dark!
