afternoon all!

Attempted to upgrade the bulbs in the interior light to LED (well they were LED before, but an awful purple colour!)

Forgetting to turn the light off, I put the festoon in and it flashed on and off whilst it briefly made contact. Turned it off and refitted it, and fitted the map lights too.

Now, when I turn all of them on, the map lights come on but the main one doesn't. I have tried another bulb, even the old bulb but now it doesn't work. Any one have any ideas? I checked the fuse (5? Interior light fuse) in the fuse box but that seemed fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

Well I knew the map readers were specific to what direction they were inserted but didn't know the festoon was!

I did wonder how the main light could be affected but not the maps, least it's sorted!

Car electrics are DC, and LEDs only pass current in one direction (D is for diode, and diodes are specifically designed to pass current one way but not the other).
