Finally changed the badges

Featured Replies

Have seen several threads on this topic so finally got round to changing the old green cruddy badges for the new chrome and black ones. A hair dryer and some dental floss soon dispatched the old ones. What a difference a small change can make to the appearance of the car. It is much crisper. Should have done it sooner.

Planning on doing this with mine over the bank holiday. Glad you found it easy to do!

Yes, was a bit aprehensive at first. Patience pays off. Three or four minutes with a hot hair dryer loosens the glue then a GENTLE sawing action with some floss and off pops the old badges. Don't be tempted to use a screwdriver or anything else for that matter, you just know it will slip and bingo no paint left.

Any chance you could post the part numbers. Been considering this as mine are all looking sorry for themselves

The number for the front and rear badge is: 1ST853630AAUL found here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-EMBLEM-BADGE-BLACK-AND-SILVER-1ST853630AAUL-GENUINE-NEW-STYLE-LOGO-/281673338098?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item41950a0cf2

for the alloys it's: 5JA601151FOD also on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-CENTRE-CAPS-BLACK-AND-SILVER-NEW-STYLE-LOGO-SET-OF-4-5JA601151FOD-/281670952971?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4194e5a80b

£59.73 to re-badge the exterior, it does make the car look nicer in my opinion.

You can get them for £52 from caffynsskodaparts but I don't know how much the postage would be.

Also to remove the old ones I found an old bank card / store loyalty card helps, it gives you slight leverage but doesn't scratch the paint  ;)

Try your local dealer first..... ;)

Bickerton Skoda in Sheffield is £52.42 for the centre caps and two badges.

Also the centre caps have two part numbers some dealers will recognise one and some the other.... 5JA 601 151 FOD or 5JA 601 151 ULM both are for the same centre caps there just appears to have been a swap from one to the other at some point.... I think the FOD is the earlier number and the ULM is the newer numbr.
