quick question if you got a golf gti mk4 chipped would they go up to the same bhp as a chipped oct vrs as its the same engine or would the oct still be higher bhp?

Really wanna no which would be quicker after a remap?

Assumption is if you took tha anniversary edition 180 it would remap to the same as an octy vRS, from a 150 it would likely be slightly lower once remapped.

Jabba seem to get around 220bhp out of all their 1.8T 150/180bhp remaps so I would think they'd probably be very similar figures. Unfortunately their web site is under development at the moment so I can't confirm that!

I thought the non drive by wire (sure it's pre 2001) 150bhp golfs etc only went to 180/190 ish bhp :confused:

More to do with the turbo than the difference between DBW and nonDBW. For example the Ibiza Mk3 1.8T is DBW but uses a K03 not K03s so maps to just under 200bhp similar to the non-DBW Golf's.

If I recall correctly, the 150BHP turbo unit is a detuned/unmapped version of the 180bhp unit. All you need is keyboard to get it to 180bhp, so I don't think it would be an issue for the 150bhp unit to hit the 220bhp mark.

As Long As Both Are Electronic Throttle Both Will Be Within 5/10hp

The Only Thing You Should Worry About Is The Brakes And Suspension As The Vrs Use The Tt Brakes And The Suspension Set Up Is Better For Re-map Golf 150hp Will Be A Scary And Soggy In Comparison
