Just found the clip by pure chance, a blue fl octy vrs estate. The person who uploaded the video is claiming they tried a crash for cash. It's under Birmingham dash cam. I was wondering if this is a members car. Sorry I can't get the link to work on my iPad.

Does look like a crash for Cash IMO. Why move into an overtaking lane and hit the brakes on

Doesn't look like crash for cash to me, doesn't make sense. Crash for cash there are usually multiple people in the car, and it's not usually a relatively expensive car. The attempts are normally more sophisticated with multiple cars that setup the accident. See this example:

I think the VRS driver genuinely made a (bad) mistake, either stalling or pressing the brake by mistake.

But he let off brakes and then hit them more severely again

Watching it again & wondering... If it's a DSG & the driver is only used to driving a manual?!

Left foot, brake, taste the windscreen!

Been there done that in a hire car. Fortunately it was on our drive not the M6! DSG is the devil's spawn LOL

Could be. I remember borrowing a friends Rover 800 auto years ago, it was the first automatic I'd driven and I managed to catch the brake pedal with my 'clutch foot' with similar results. The poor sod behind only just managed to avoid hitting me!
