Jacking points

Featured Replies

I am going to have the rear tyres changed early after the noticable improvment the new Conti Sportcontacts2 have made to the front of the car.

Can anyone tell me the bodywork safe jacking points for the tyre dealers trolley jack so they dont damage the sills?

The front has that flattened point on the sills, the rear does'nt and dont want it made so either.

Cheers

I have never had much luck with tyre fitters , even though you say to be careful re rims etc they aways seem to get something damaged. I always minimise the damage they can cause by taking the wheels off myself and transporting them to them. Drastic I know but bitten too often in the past.

Unless you find one that jacks on a ramp and has the rubber protectors against the sill contact points.

I can thoroughly recomend http://www.elite-design.co.uk/frameset3.html

I live in Folkestone and even for me to travel up to them (near Ford factory) i saved money on a pair of Pirelli's than anywhere local.

That was the third time i had been there and the fitters are VERY professional.

When i took my M3 up, i stated that if they wouldn't guarantee not to damage the wheels then i would go elsewhere, there reply was if they marked them at all, then they would pay for them to be refurbished such was there confidence!

Guess what - not the slightest blemish on the wheels after they had fitted and balanced them.

No prizes for guessing where i will go next time. :)
