Re your comments about prices rising quickly with the Audi A1 when you add extras and even quicker in the Polo, I started specing Polos up for wife and when picking a chosen group of "must haves", the SEL ended up being cheapest against the SE and SE Design, which I suppose is not that surprising.

Suzuki swift... Good, different suggestion, thanks!

If people are saying Seat but the Ibiza is aimed at "younger people" then why not a Leon?

It does not sound like the Leon would beat the Ibiza for an "in town mainly" small car, so I'd reckon that suggestion will not work, though the Leon is indeed a car that fits for any age group.

if you are looking at a 5 door polo ask about lead time for factory order with the extras, don't be surprised to be told 5-6 months particualy if you want a 1.2TSi 90

It is a 5 door 1.2TSI 110PS that I have ordered on 10th April and knew about the long delivery time, though knowing my luck, it will come mid August will get a 15 plate, not that that is a big issue as we tend to hold onto cars for a while! Build week has been "fixed" according to VW car tracker, but we have yet to find out when that will be.

Good deal, only trouble is it's an obsolete engine and there's a face lifted Ibiza due out in the next couple of months.

i had a 58 suzuki swift sport only 4 days with deep ice on st i couldn't drive it,but and it a big but, it put a damn good smile on my face always, stuck to the road like glue, had a decent bmc carbon fibre induction put in it and it shifted like you wouldn't believe easy doing 100 on a private road, light as hell handled good (nothing like it) lower it a bit its like a go kart,i even got a 5ft unit in with the boot shut, for a 3 door sports car that moved it was damn good, lost my job panicked and sold it paid of the finance otherwise i'd still have it now,the newer ones are less tax bit more power and euro friendly on emmisions, need to be pushed a bit the reviews say but look good

I recall seeing that Suzuki are very highly rated in the reliability stakes and tried to get daughter to buy one. As is sometimes the case with the younger ladies she did not like the shape (as if that matters) so we finished up with a Mazda 2 which has done very well considering how much she insults it and she finds the TS2 version nippy enough for her needs.

Oh shape is THE most important thing to my SWMBO.  I guess as a design teacher form can be important.... But I'd have thought function should be an equal pas part of her syllabus....hmmm.

I have a Suzuki garage close by and fancy a drive of the swift sport.  I suspect that around town it's small size would make it far more fun than my octy.

As for a Leon I'd look at it, and being mqb alot will be common to my own car which may have advantages.  Suspect swmbo would see it as too big though..... Something she regularly says to me  :D
