debadging.

OK guys. I finally got round to getting rid of those nasty Octavia badge and FSI badges off the boot. Got all the glue and rubbish off. From around 1-2 ft it looks lovely and clean however, while I was polishing I noticed that at the top of the "T" and along the top of the "FSI" badges there are some marks that won't come off. On closer inspection they look like what I can only describe as perforation or dotted lines in the clear coat?

Has anybody else had anything similar?

They are not that bad that I need to put the badges back on, doesn't look like the boot has been resprayed with them on, and don't show when standing back but Ive seen then now. Also around the edge of the "O" there is what seems like a light scarring that won't polish out. I'm taking it that its just where the clear coat has aged differently due to the badges being on for 10 years. Will this fade over time?

Have you tried a little 2000 grade wet and dry if its not too deep? Then tcut to finish. I thought about taking mine of as I hate the font, then I realised my car was light blue (AKA Stone grey) and nothing I did was going to make it look good :)

Yeah i hated the font and also all the dirt and wax that collects around it. No not tried wet sanding. Have tried with meguires ultimate compound and tried with t cut but neither completely got rid of it. Will try wet sanding after its been washed.
